Oh hiiiiiii!

Last summer I send a letter to Dr. Harris at McMaster, about my interest in his project on the social geography of Bombay and Calcutta at the turn of the 20th Century. 

Nine months later, after applying, sending in my transcripts two months late, also being tardy on my letter of intent, and planning to take a year off and ignore the academic scene for a while, McMaster has offered me $9,000 per year and an $11,000 teacher assistant position. 

Needless to say, the GFC Victoria will be getting another branch! GFC Hamilton! 

“Hamilton? Don’t parts of Hamilton resemble Mordor?,” you ask? True! And I don’t have much optimism for gluten free food there either.

That said, I am excited to a) meet new people b) teach c) travel to London and India, and d) conduct extensive census data analysis for two years. (Kidding, D is false). If anyone knows about GF food in Hamilton, or have any favourite places in Toronto, please e-mail or comment. I’m going to need all the help I can get. So far I know one person: my supervisor, and only because I spoke on the phone with him for an hour this last week.
